Previously:
“eg3dy m3ay,” he broke
the ice
I sat down in silence, “what are we?” I asked.

He side-hugged me, so that my
head was resting on the upper part of his chest. I never contemplated rejecting
his embrace; it was always the safest place to be in,
“enti t3rfen enk ‘3air 3n kl
eli 7oly, w ena mkantk 3ndi kbera! ana ant’9r elwgt
eli feh ashofik, w shoftik try7ny! y3ni lazm agolha bl9are7? 7se feni w

eli bdonik dahar, w elleel eli ymr shahar!”
I looked up at him, stunned with
what he just said and asked him dumbfounded , “eish g9dik
b kal hatha?”
He looked at me impatiently and
said, “y3ni 3youny ma tshof ‘3airk,
galby ma yfiz ela bgdomik, 3gly ma yfkr ela fekk! La tjan’neni tkfain! A7bik w maby ‘3airk, is
it so hard to see?” he asked
I knew for sure my cheeks got
redder than usual, and I felt a strange feeling creeping into my system, I felt
like smiling. I hid my face with my arms,
“alaah alah lw ndre kan mn zmaaan 7akenaa!” he continued but with a serious tone this time, “lw 7ubi mz3jk, bktmah. Bkthb w b8n3 nfsi bkthby. Lw brhi8k,
ab5tfe. bs lw 7baity ‘3airy, e3rfy eni bthb7ah. Enty lw btkonen l a7ad, f ana
el5ayar elw7ed.”
I felt like I needed to reassure
him, that he wouldn’t need to do any of that, because I was feeling the same
way, I man-ed up and looked at him,
“7ubk mu mz3jny.”
“gole amen,”
“amen..”
“alah y7f’9k w y5lek le w ma y7rmni mn wjhk el7asan.”I smiled and looked to the side.
“yalah in you go! It’s getting
cold, ma abek tmr’9en!”
“6yb 3ady a6lbk 6alab?” I asked
him
“la mu 3adi, enti ma t6lben enti tamren,” he replied. ‘How am I
ever going to get used to his sweet words?’ I asked
myself
“umm 3ady tgadim r7lty 2 weeks earlier?”
Since I was taking a semester off of my third year at the American
University in Sharjah, I wanted to spend some time in Saudi with my family and
friends before heading back to the UAE. I kind of felt homesick, since I haven’t been home since the summer, and I really wanted to
celebrate my 20th birthday with my parents!
“Lesh fe shay?” he asked
concerned
“la, bs eshtagt ll S3odya w abi arj3 ashof elnas gbl la arja3
ll Emirate!”
“kla9 ajal a’3yr 7jzna!”
“la ma y7taj trj3 m3ay”
“w a5lek trj3en l7alk? Laa la.”
“3adi Faisal! I’m turning
20! I can manage!”
“arya7 w a6mn le” he replied
as he stood up and extended his hand for me to take. He walked me to my room
and wished me goodnight, “t9b7en 3ala ma t7ben,” he kissed
my forehead, and I went in.
I rested my body on the door and
sighed, ‘this is too good to be true.’
I woke up the next morning at
around 11 AM, and I called my mom like I always do when I wake up. We said our
hellos and started chatting,
“’3reeba leeh twk t97en?” she asked
“ee mama b6ni y3wr mara mu zay el3ada, w ams ma nmt badri zay
dayim!” I replied
“shfeek ya mama? t7tajen tro7en elmstashfa? Wain Areen w
Faisal 3nikk?” she asked with panic sneaking into her voice
“madri mama Areen aked bl jam3a, bs madri 3n Faisal, mafeni at7arak wala! 5la9 3adi enshalah
shway w a9er a7san!”
“6yb la t6l3een elyoum, 3shan ma yd5lik hawa!”
“la bg3id blshga mani 6al3a!”
“6yb 7bebty ento btrj3on b3d thlath asabe3?”
“la glt l Faisal ygdim 7jzi, y3ni 3ala nihayat elesbo3 eljay
ana raj3a enshala!” I informed her
“ohh zain! 5la9 ajal ana w abok nnt’9rk! Yala 7bebty lazm agafil, bro7 beat baba Ahmad.”
“yala slmeli 3ala baba w 3laihum klhum, bye.”
I hung up from my mom and went to
the bathroom, I was walking slowly because I didn’t have the
power nor the energy to walk in a normal pace, I swear if someone crawled they’d make it there before I did.
After I came back, I changed into
my baby pink A&F skinny sweatpants and my Larissa shine grey hoodie, and
went back to lay down on the bed. I plugged in my headphones and checked my phone. I had 3
miscalls from Faisal that I didn’t notice
since I always have my phone on silent mode.
I dialed his number and he
answered after the first ring,
“Sul! Are you ok? Eish feh your stomach?” he asked really fast
“meen galk?” I replied with my dazed voice
“5alty tw dagat tgol enk t3bana w ena ashof lw t7tajen tro7en
elmstashfa! I’m on the way back, 36eni 5 dgayg!” he replied
Monthly, when I get my period I don’t need to go to the hospital, but my life would feel like it’s literally stopping.. I wouldn’t be able to move a lot or do anything, basically I would
barely leave my bed in the first day or two, but if I felt like I’m in real pain, I would go to the hospital to get attached to
a drip, it generally gives me a bit energy, and makes me feel better.
“Faisal are
you driving?” I asked him, ignoring everything he just told me
“ma 3laik mni, elbsi your jacket w 5lek jahza, ana jayik!”
“Faisal! La tkabir elmw’9o3! I’m a girl and my stomach hurts, 6be3y!”
he kept quit for a couple of
seconds, to realize what I meant, then asked, “6yb tben Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Nougat Crunch,
aw Chocolate Therapy?”
“Chocolate Fudge Brownie, please” I replied
with a groggy tone
“mn 3youny, yala thawani w ana 3ndik!” and he closed the line.
I went on Whatsapp to kill time, I had a couple
of notifications of active chats I didn’t open,
they were from the family’s group, Areen, Lama, and Faisal.
I open the family chat, just to
get rid of the notification, and then I read Areen’s suggestion,
“Sala6a, do you remember Sarah w AlAnoud AlX? Elmohum ena
they’re in London, do want to go out for dinner with them today?”
I replied to her, “Areen my
stomach is killing me, mu zay el 3ada! I’ll pass :(
but have fun!”
“Salamat are you ok? Faisal 3ndik? la ajal 5la9 ma y7taj
n2jlha!” she replied right away
“Alah yslmik! He’s on his
way! 5la9 3ala ra7tik! Yala ana bry7, enjoy class ;p!”
“ya 7marra! You just woke up :’( ya 7yat
elshga wala </3”
I laughed at her comment, and
shifted to Lama’s message,
“Salaa6aa! 5alaa9 come back :( ana w AUS w elSharjah bkbraha mshtagen lkk</3!”
Lama was one of my few true/real
friends that I made throughout high school, and we are still as tight as we
ever were! We applied to the same university, got accepted, and became
roommates,
“I miss you and Sharjah even more! Klha shahar w ana raj3a
enshala ;)”
“enshaalaahh *_*” she
replied
I opened Faisal’s messages last, I mean you know what they say: 'always keep
the best for last',
“Sul6anty!”
“wake up yala! don't you want breakfast?”
“eldnya m’9lma mn donik, gomi w nwreha!”
“I’m at Harrods! Mar7 a6wl bjeb sha’3la w bje! etha b’3aity shay
Jen came back this morning, she’s in the apartment!”
“Call me as soon as you see thiss‼” was the last thing he whatsapped me, 8 minutes ago.
“hey<3” was all I replied
“T9dgeni 3ad etha gltlk London malha 6a3am w enti nayma?”
“please tell me you are not whatsapping me while driving :)” I replied
“A) it’s a red light. B) lesh y3ni 3ala asas t5afen 3alay:(?”
“la 5ayfa 3ala syratik el9ara7a :)” I replied in annoyance
“LOOL galby ana el hot tempered :*! Open the door mali 5lg
a6al3 elmfta7!”
“don’t make me move please :(”
“that bad?” he asked
“you have no idea :(” I replied
back
“la la ajal la tt7rken! Jen will open!”
I heard the apartment's door open and Jen's high pitched voice, then he opened my room’s door, with two Ben and Jerry’s ice
cream, two spoons in his hand, and a smile, the smile that sweetened the very
air in my lungs.
Want to know what happens next?
Stay pitched for the next chapter x

ReplyDeleteokay, so im a new reader, and ur story is amazing!!! im really in love with it, and sl6ana and faisal sound sooo cute together <3 and faisal is just the perfect guy!!! srsly he is a an exact description of the guy of my dreams <333 (inshallah fy mithla in the real world) anyways, i think it really would be great if sl6ana changed schools to london to be closer to faisal. but ur the writer and ur probably already have the storyline, and have all the main events written down, but i was just giving my opinion!!!
anyways, loved the chapter and i can't wait for more!!!
post soon <333
Thank you so much! I hope so too x
DeleteI appreciate your opinion, but just to make things clear: Faisal doesn't live in London, he's only there with Sultana to visit his sister Areen, that studies there :p
